Anansi and Death

these are more precise sketches for the illustrations, some of them meant to be double spreads, some i wouldn't use it, it's all still changeable.

Hi Johan!!! Nice to have you on board! And even better to see someone working on Anansi! I love the drawing s of the birds, and some aspects of your tonal compositions, but your figure drawing needs direction - either you work on the formal aspects , such as anatomy, foreshortening and relationship of figure and ground (literally), or you go more abstract, which wouldn't work if at the moment with the very realistic crow/raven drawings

hi CHiu.
erm i was wondering if you could be lore specific about my figure issue, is it not proportioned enough, is it a dodgy perspective, well i know it's kind of mad to ask you to comment on sketchings but the final outcome might slightly different,at the moment i'm trying to finish up all the precise sketchings and then i'll start draw them properly, as
you commented, i'm looking into some books regrading to figures now ( hopefully it helps =D , i'm also working on hospital voluntary project about Enzo the dragon, it's started but still at developing the dragon character and they like it.

since you asked! Mainly badly thought out drawings. Why are all the people carrying objects right in front of their heads, and yes poorly proportioned body parts along with an awkward composition. Never ask something which is staring you in the face unless you want someone to say it - or rather never ask me!

If me, I would consider the style I want to represent my figure in, in which case naively drawn figures may be a factor I could play with - as I don't much admire well proportioned figures - you, however, look like you are attempting to create "properly drawn figures", and thus have to decide on which is to be? Naive or Realistic

actually it's fairly obvious what you have done. You've drawn the birds from reference, and made a really decent job of translating them into your energetic pencil, and ink signature. Your figures look like they've been made up, even if they haven't.

lol thanks for pretty decent slap =D true to guess that i've been attempting to make something realistic but i'm also considering the other way, but i also know that somewhere along the production of the pieces, it will be different, uh before i forget, the reason why all the people lifting things and covering their faces, because it meant to be ( difficult to explain, i'll show when i finish all of it) and what a crap, the library close yesterday and today, cant really wait, my attemp is i'll go to sutton park and recreate al the scenes now( a bit mad) but thought it'll be fun. hopefully people won't take me as nutty
